Builder Brokers are the original building brokers Brisbane. Born out of the frustration we heard time and time again from landowners who struggled with building quotes and the early stages of construction.

Trying to source a builder, organise all the information needed for a quote and then comparing the quotes, was a barrier for many people who had the dream of building a custom home. The time needed was extensive, the learning curve was overwhelming.

Even developers found the process tedious.

Why couldn’t there be a brokerage service, just like lending but for builders?

And so, Builder Brokers was born

Builder Brokers are the original building brokers Brisbane. Operating since 2016 we have amassed a network of over 600 builders along with property professionals to bring a bespoke building brokerage service to our clients.

Michael Shekell is the founder and driving force behind Builder Brokers 1800 1 BUILD, bringing over 20 years of hands-on experience in the construction and property industries. His passion for all things building is matched by a relentless drive to solve problems and improve the way building projects are delivered.

Builder Brokers – July 2025 release is the refined result of dozens of iterations and lessons learned. In fact, it’s the fourth – and arguably the 40th – version of a concept Michael has been evolving over the years. Today, the business is thriving, with consistently positive feedback from both clients and builders. The rise of over 20 imitators in the market only reinforces Builder Brokers’ leadership and momentum.

Looking ahead, 2025 marks a major milestone. With rapid advances in data and construction technology, the next release will be the most innovative and impactful yet – a glimpse into the future of building brokerage.

Michael is a true people person. He thrives on working closely with clients, builders, lenders, real estate professionals, and all stakeholders to ensure exceptional outcomes for every project.
